Crowning the far reaches of Vast Poni Canyon on Poni Island, this colossal stone platform centers on a huge Sunne emblem flanked by matching pedestals and water-ringed stone islands, approached by an enormous stairway. In Pokémon Sun's story, the altar fires a beam toward the sun symbol, where Nebby evolves from Cosmoem into Solgaleo, and the player rides its power into Ultra Space. Though exclusive to the Sun versions under normal play, it becomes reachable in Moon and Ultra Moon via Ultra Wormhole once the player is Champion, and Champions can cross from here into a mirrored world where day and night are flipped.
