The Holm of Trials occupies part of a large island off the southern Crimson Mirelands of Hisui, across the river from Gapejaw Bog and Sludge Mound. A river from the north forks into two streams that wall the island off from the mainland. Mostly flat with mountains along its southern rim, the area has a boggy character much like Gapejaw Bog, its surface stippled with slim, rounded pools broken up by trees and fields of golden grain, while a shallow dip adds relief to its western section.
