Icebound Falls fills a reversed-J-shaped valley walled by steep cliffs in the southwestern Alabaster Icelands of Hisui, near Avalanche Slopes, Arena's Approach, Whiteout Valley, and Bonechill Wastes. Its namesake frozen waterfall descends the southern cliffs, whose terrace-like ledges hold ore deposits reachable with Sneasler, and the frozen river above carves an elevated valley through the mountaintop. A tunnel at the valley's eastern tip leads to Bonechill Wastes, a central path connects to Arena's Approach, and the southern entrance to Hibernal Cave lies in the east.
