Said to be the place where life begins, the Cave of Origin sits at the northern end of Sootopolis City in Hoenn, guarded by Gym Leader Wallace and mirrored by Mt. Pyre, where life is said to end. After the events at the Seafloor Cavern and a clash with Team Magma or Team Aqua, the player encounters Groudon or Kyogre here in Ruby, Sapphire, and their remakes. Sootopolis residents are forbidden from entering, and in Emerald, Wallace ponders Rayquaza's whereabouts here until pointed toward the Sky Pillar.
