Blackthorn City

High in Johto's mountainous northeast sits Blackthorn City, large in area but small in population, with the Ice Path to its north and lengthy Route 45 to its south. Clair leads the local Gym with Dragon-type Pokémon, and residents often become Dragon specialists, a tendency attributed in part to the nearby Dragon's Den. Generation IV reworked the city with straw-roofed houses, jagged rocks and broken trunks, a river flowing in from Route 45, and a wooden bridge spanning it.
