Goldenrod City sprawls across western Johto as the region's largest city, one of the Pokémon world's biggest, and its hub of economy and telecommunications. Attractions include the Magnet Train, Game Corner, Department Store, Radio Tower, Global Terminal, Name Rater, and the Gym of Whitney, whose Normal-type team guards the Plain Badge. The National Park and Pokéathlon Dome lie to the north off Route 35, with the Pokémon Day Care immediately below the city.
