Route 4, Parterre Way, connects Santalune City to Lumiose City in central Kalos. Multicolored flowerbeds and hedge mazes tended by Gardeners decorate the route, centered on Perle Fountain, a monument to acceptance and harmony. At the northern gate the player first meets Sina and Dexio, Professor Sycamore's assistants, who introduce Flabébé and the Fairy type before escorting them into Lumiose City.
