Route 17

19 Pokémon can be caught at Route 17 in Kanto — highlighted on the map below.

Route 17 descends through western Kanto from Route 16 to Route 18 and is better known as Cycling Road, a downhill stretch that in Generations I through IV admits only riders of Bicycles or Motorcycles, making it a magnet for biker gangs. Stone paths guide cyclists past channels of water and a grassy area near the northern end. Surfing here is forbidden despite the open water, and in the Let's Go games the road is rebranded Pokémon Road since no Bicycle exists in those versions.
