Connecting Route 214 to the Solaceon Ruins, Maniac Tunnel starts out as the Ruin Maniac Cave before its excavation finishes. The Ruin Maniac inside challenges the player to a race: he digs through the mountain while the player collects sightings of different Unown forms. Once at least 26 forms have been recorded, the completed tunnel reaches the ruins' formerly sealed upper chamber, the only place where the question mark and exclamation mark Unown appear.
