Stone architecture gives Rustboro City an old-town character unusual within Hoenn, where it ranks as the fourth-largest settlement behind Mauville, Lilycove, and Slateport. This western metropolis hosts the Devon Corporation's headquarters in its northwest and the region's first Gym, led by Roxanne. During the Delta Episode the player hears Devon's history from Mr. Stone here before being sent to Granite Cave for a Meteorite Shard, and later drives off three Grunts outside the building after the device controlling the Link Cable is stolen.
