The Pokémon League organizes competitions for registered Trainers and acts as the governing body over the regional Leagues. Ten of these are known, spanning Kanto, the Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, and Paldea. Entry into a region's competition generally requires collecting enough Gym Badges by defeating that region's Gym Leaders, though Alola follows its own system.
