Trainers must surf east from New Bark to reach the first landfall, where a local announces their arrival in Kanto. Near the falls' eastern portal, a woman in a small house checks how attached the player's lead Pokémon is and rewards a devoted pair with TM37 (Sandstorm). Ace Trainer Reena, encountered on a bridge segment further east, offers Pokégear rematches after her defeat.
